Design and Supervision
Reliance Retails Ltd. had set up mall chains across India by the brand name Reliance Hypermarket. The hypermarkets also house food court, multiplexes as add-on facilities. CECPL was engaged to design MEP facilities for such a project in Vadodara Gujarat.
With a Built-up Area of 250,000 sq. ft., the project (B+G+3F+R) consisted of a hypermarket, shopping mall, food court, and multiplex.
Challenges
Subsequent to detailed MEP design engineering and ordering of materials, the mall went through major modifications and architectural changes to suit prospective end users. Their unique new demands for specific facilities and interior requirements also imposed a challenge to revalidate MEP services provision.
In addition, the major low side equipment had been ordered by the client based on the original design proposed. Hence, Consistent provided assistance to ensure that the machinery ordered was used optimally to cater to the revised layouts of shops/retail areas by revalidating the entire low side MEP design.
Every sq. ft. area of mall is with a saleable proposition, and as a consequence MEP equipment rooms get smaller space provision. Hence, it was a challenge to accommodate high side electrical machinery in the available space allotted.
